When you hear these young voices speaking frankly and directly about who they are, we hope you also hear the truth in every word they say…
When students of Frazer High School on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation participated in a filmmaking course as a part of a media arts program created by the Fort Peck Community College’s CHANTÉ Project, they learned about storytelling and scripting, operating video cameras, and recording professional audio.
When the students were tasked with telling a story about themselves and their community in a music video format, they came up with story themes, created a footage list, and then filmed and recorded the visuals and narrative.
The result of that hard work is this inspiring music video titled “I Am.”
MAPS Media Institute created the curriculum for this course and provided instruction during the 2020-21 school year.
